Mediácia ako forma podpory rodiny so spoluzávislým správaním
Anotace
The paper addresses the issue of codependency within the context of family relationships, with a focus
on the possibilities and limitations of mediation when working with this phenomenon. Codependency
is analyzed as a relational and behavioral pattern that emerges in environments characterized by longterm stress, addiction, or dysfunctional power dynamics, resulting in the loss of personal boundaries, excessive control, and related manifestations. The paper adopts an interdisciplinary approach, reflecting perspectives from psychology, social work, and mediation, and highlights the fact that although codependency is not formally classified as a diagnosis, it nevertheless has a significant impact on individuals’ functioning and quality of life. Particular attention is devoted to mediation as a form of support for families struggling with both addiction and codependency. The aim of the paper is to define the boundaries of mediation, emphasize the necessity of a safe and voluntary environment, and underline the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in working with families affected by codependent behavior.
